Our Story

Four generations, quietly carried forward.

Gepton Hotel was opened in the summer of 1948 by Ravi Gepton — a tea exporter from Dehradun who had grown tired of the hotels he was asked to stay in. He set out to build a house where he would have wished to be met at the door. Seventy-seven years later, we still try to keep that single instinct uppermost.

The Palace & Spa is the fourth Gepton property, and the first to carry the family name in its own right. We opened here, in Sector 28, in 2018, after four years of quiet building. The suites on the tenth floor look across the Aravalli ridge at sundown; the spa is on the garden floor, set apart from the rest of the hotel and approached on foot.

We are still a family-run house. The first cousin of our founder's great-granddaughter — Anvita Gepton — runs the company today, and lives on the eleventh floor when she is not travelling.

Sustainability

Small, careful, ongoing.

We compost every kitchen scrap on the garden floor. Our laundry runs on solar-heated water and grey-water recycling. Nine of every ten kilograms of vegetables in the kitchens come from within 80 kilometres of the hotel. We still have work to do, and we try not to lie about it.
